2008 Spring League

Continuing on last years successfull spring league, HURL is running another
Ultimate league this year starting on April 15th. Details are as follows:
Where: Dartmouth All-Weather Fields
When: April 15 - May 27. All games will be played on Tuesdays.
Time: 7:00pm - 11:00pm
Cost: $45 per player
League Format
The spring league will be a small, 8-12 team Rec level coed league. Depending on registration numbers, it will be played 7 on 7 full fields, or 6 on 6 small fields. Everyone will be formed into teams before the season starts, so this is essentially a large draft league.
This is great chance to get ready for summer, start forming your teams, meet new players and captains and get in some good ultimate. These are all weather fields so your guaranteed no rainouts! Based on last year though, if it snows, that is a different story.
Registration
Registration for this league is open to anyone of any skill level that would like to play Ultimate. There will be no HURL membership fee charged for spring league, just the registration fee to cover the cost of the fields and our overhead.
Registration will open on Thursday April 3rd @ 9:00am. If you would like to play with anyone in particular (3 other people max), please indicate their names when you register and we will do our best to match you with who would like to play with. We prefer that people pay online with their credit card at: www.halifaxultimate.ca but you may also pay by cheque made out to Halifax Ultimate Recreational League Society and mailed to us at the address shown here.
Captains
For each team we will need to have someone willing to volunteer as a captain. This person should have a good understanding of the 11th edition UPA rules of Ultimate and be willing to help his/her team mates learn the game, answer their questions about rules/strategy, get their team organized before each game, and record their team scores on the website. If you would like to be a team captain, please indicate this when you register.
Volunteers
We are still looking for a few a people to help setup fields on game days for this league. If you are looking to get more involved with league planning this is great way to get your feet wet.
